Oil of Heaven Ministries teaches, models, and imparts responsiveness to the Holy Spirit for life and ministry. Congregations who work with us learn how to easily and naturally access the supernatural dimension of the Christian faith. Those congregations who move forward in exploring and developing the gifts of the Holy Spirit often find themselves on the cutting edge of a renewal of parish life and community outreach that can only be explained (and sustained!) by the ongoing power and presence of the divine in their midst.
People who attend our conferences and workshops usually arrive with no idea what to expect. Our conferences are highly practical, hands on, and experiential. Because we know that most people learn by doing, not simply by receiving a lecture, we try to move people quickly from theory to practice. We do not believe that Christian ministry is a "spectator sport" and our goal is bring as many people into the game as possible. When people leave one of our trainings, they are confident in their relationship with the Lord, able to move in the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit according to His good pleasure, and are generally raised to a new level of spiritual maturity and effectiveness.
Most often, we work with congregations of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod. However, we are ecumenically oriented and are happy to serve the Lord wherever He opens the door for ministry, regardless of the sign on the front lawn. We are all about helping others recognize and appropriate the wonderful treasures available to the believer and providing on-going assistance and spiritual direction. We have topical expertise in healing, spiritual gifts, prayer, and discipleship that can be utilized immediately in conjunction with your current congregational vision and strategy. Typically, Oil of Heaven can come alongside you in three ways:
Teaching: Many congregations can benefit from simply being presented material that honors the scriptural truth about the person and work of the Holy Spirit without going off into things that distract from what the Lord is communicating. Our teachers have long-standing testing in living out and teaching the tenets of the Bible with truth and realistic applicability. They present a fresh vibrancy to the Word of God.
Modeling: A major deficiency in most Lutheran congregations is the lack of a credible model for engaging the supernatural. No one has ever taught us how to do this stuff because they didn’t know how to do it either! And to cover up their own ignorance, they explained it all away. Simply having a healthy, balanced model of both clergy and laity, male and female, young and no so young working together at your event, living out what is being taught in a natural but Spirit-dependent manner provides a model that is easily transferrable and quickly implemented in the local congregation.
Imparting: All who are present experience teaching, observe modeling, and receive various degrees of impartation. Everyone who shows up is changed in some way, which translates into immediate changes in the local congregation. However, the host church is asked to provide key leaders who "shadow" Oil of Heaven team members for the duration of the event's teaching sessions, ministry times, and down times. Through teamwork, debriefing sessions, and personal sharing, host church members are given hands-on learning experiences which become the chassis upon which future training and mentoring is constructed.
